In 2017, Master Distiller Billy Walker was reviewing the stock of barrels from 2007, 2008. He found himself in awe of the balance and depth of the samples he procured from what he viewed the younger expressions. Not wanting to wait any longer, he put the delicious whisky in a bottle.
Glenallachie 10 Years Old Cask Strength Batch 8 is the latest cask strength release. A marriage of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso Sherry puncheons, alongside a small quantity of Virgin Oak and Rioja casks. Bottled at a cask strength of 57.2 % with notes of cinnamon spice, molasses and honeycomb, followed by ginger and dark chocolate, with hints of nutmeg and fennel on the finish.
