The Blend
To create the bespoke blend for The Royal Salute 21-Year-Old Richard Quinn Edition II, Richard visited the historic Strathisla Distillery to conduct a co-blending session with Master Blender,
Sandy Hyslop.
The finest Scotch whiskies from Braeval, Strathisla and Caperdonich distilleries were hand-selected and blended to reflect Richard’s personal palate, creating a balanced and opulent whisky
with a remarkable depth of flavor. Meticulously sampling and selecting a range of the finest 21-year-old whiskies, the pair created the perfect balance of flavors to represent the depth and
maturity of our ongoing partnership
Inspired by Harris’ perception of modern royalty, the collaboration is the embodiment of luxury, regality and craftsmanship, bringing together two worlds that hold these values at their core.
When embarking on the design process for the collaboration, Harris was drawn to the natural parallels between Royal Salute’s regal heritage and his signature feather headpieces, which he
describes as modern day crowns. The feather headpiece became the hero feature of the design, adorning the flagon with a piece of iconography that combined the theatrical word of Harris
Reed with the enchanting kingdom of Royal Salute.
NOSE
Notes of fresh red apples, homemade raspberry jam and crème brûlée combine with swirls of nutty hazelnut praline, hints of cinnamon and sweet toasted oak.
PALATE
Pear crumble, creamy vanilla fudge and toasted almonds from the extra charred virgin oak barrel are complemented by Sherry matured Braeval, bringing notes of raisin, gooseberry jam, lively
ginger and hints of clove.
FINISH
Rich, complex and spicy.
