Better than Single Malt
The complexity and flavorful character of Great King Street disguises the fact that this is a blended Scotch whisky. Both the Artist's Blend and the Glasgow Blend have lots of good whisky flavor at a very reasonable price point.

ESSENTIALS OF PEATED WHISKY
This blended whisky from Compass Box is a good representation of what a decent peated whisky should be.. There are better peated malts out there, usually single malts from Speyside or Islay. But for the price, the Great King Street provides a fruity nose, a hint of peat smoke, a decent taste and good finish. If you are looking for more smoothness and a sweeter finish, without the peat, spend twice the money and buy a Nikka Coffey Malt or something similar. Being a peat enthusiast myself, this is my everyday whisky for drinking.
