After re-racking into port casks for around two years, we felt that this whisky was not yet ready for bottling. Our team decided that the spirit had been slightly overpowered by the casks. As a result, the casks were then transferred into refill bourbon for around a year which has created a deliciously rounded dram. Notes of raspberry ripple ice cream, juicy dates and peanut butter reveal themselves sip by sip.
Glenburgie-Glenlivet Information
Based in Alves, Moray, Glenburgie Distillery was founded in 1810 and most of the spirit produced is used for blends - this highlights the role that independent bottlers have in the whisky industry, we provide whisky lovers with an increased chance to enjoy single malts that are hard to find elsewhere.
Glenburgie spirit is grassy and has "outdoorsy" notes. It's sweet and has a slight oiliness too.
