Product Description
"We are delighted to announce the 2024 release of our Distillers' pick Heritage Bourbon, a Single Barrel selection bottled at cask strength and a gold medal at Whiskies of the World 2024!
Our Heritage Bourbon is made with organic corn grown in Woodland, California and heirloom Gazelle rye grown on co-founder Earl Brown’s family ranch in the Mattole Valley of Northern California. The mash bill is rounded out with California grown malted barley.
Barrel #326 was aged for 7 years in a 53 gallon char-3 New American Oak cask from McGinnis Cooperage. Bottled at a cask strength of 122.2 proof, barrel #326 is an intense, undiluted showcase of a beautifully barrel aged bourbon.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Strong and bold, with initial aromas of rich caramel, toasted oak, and candied ginger. Robust spice notes emerge featuring cinnamon, clove, and a hint of nutmeg. Deeper aromas reveal dried fruits like fig and raisin, with underlying tones of saddle leather and tobacco.
Palate: Full-bodied and powerful, with an immediate wash of dark caramel, maple syrup, and dark chocolate. The spices of peppercorn, cinnamon give the bourbon complex warmth. Rich oak and ashy char prevail on the finish, with lingering notes of dark fruit, leather and a hint of smokiness.
Adding a few drops of water will open up more subtle flavors, while reducing the heat and enhancing the bourbon’s complexity. Also enjoyable on a king cube."
750ml, 61.1% ABV.
